Welcome to the PDF Viewer and Player! This application allows you to view PDF documents directly in your browser.
Opening a PDF
Click the PDF icon: Locate the icon in the control panel and click it to open a file selection dialog. Choose a PDF file from your device.
Drag-and-Drop: You can also simply drag a PDF file from your computer and drop it anywhere onto the viewer area. The PDF will load automatically.
Navigating Through Pages
Arrow Buttons: Use the left ← and right → arrow buttons in the control panel to move between pages.
Keyboard Arrows: You can also use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard for quick navigation.
Table of Contents (if available): If the PDF has a Table of Contents, a icon will appear. Click it to open a modal with clickable entries that will take you directly to specific sections of the document.
Text-to-Speech (TTS)
Note: Text-to-Speech is available only on desktop devices.
Toggle TTS Controls: Click the (Speech) icon to show or hide the TTS player controls (language selection, voice selection, play/pause, and stop buttons).
Language Selection: Use the first dropdown menu to filter voices by language. Only voices available on your system for the current internet connectivity will be shown.
Voice Selection: Use the second dropdown menu to choose from various available voices for the selected language.
Play/Pause Page: Click the (Play) button to start reading the current page aloud. If already playing, the icon will change to (Pause). Click it again to pause the reading. Click
Stop Reading: Click the (Stop) button to immediately stop the reading.
Automatic Page Advance: After reading the entire current page, the viewer will automatically advance to the next page and continue reading, until the end of the document.
Zooming In and Out
Desktop (Mouse Wheel): Hold down the left mouse button anywhere on the PDF canvas and scroll your mouse wheel up to zoom in, or down to zoom out.
Mobile (Pinch-to-Zoom): On touch devices, use a two-finger pinch gesture on the PDF canvas to zoom in or out.
Fullscreen Mode
Desktop (Double-Click): Double-click anywhere on the PDF viewing area to enter or exit fullscreen mode.
Mobile (Double-Tap): Double-tap anywhere on the PDF viewing area to enter or exit fullscreen mode.
Navigation in Fullscreen: Use the large arrow buttons that appear on the left and right sides of the screen to navigate pages.
Exiting Fullscreen: You can also press the Esc key to exit fullscreen mode.
Settings
Access Settings: Click the (Settings) icon to open the settings panel.
Pause on Blank Page: Adjust the duration (in seconds) the player will pause on a blank page during Text-to-Speech.
Skip Blank Pages: Toggle this option to automatically skip pages with no readable text during Text-to-Speech.
Dark Mode: Toggle this option to switch between light and dark themes for the application interface.
General Tips
Tooltips: Hover over buttons and icons to see a descriptive tooltip.
Closing Modals: Press the Esc key on your keyboard to quickly close any open modal (Table of Contents, Help, or Settings).
Error Messages: Important messages or errors will appear in a pop-up box.
